TIRAZHEH MOFID ART

Interdisciplinary Freelance Artist

Tirazheh Delara Mofid is an interdisciplinary artist born in Silver Spring, MD to two first-generation Iranian immigrants. Her personal work for the last six years has shed light on the social and political climate in Iran and how that also effected her own experience. The movement “Women Life Freedom” is quickly becoming more familiar to her fellow Americans since the murder of Mahsa Amini, but for Tirazheh and other Iranians, this narrative is decades old and she has been using her art to share that with others since she was earning her BFA at VCUarts. She uses art making use art making as a form of catharsis while also touching on universal concepts such as heritage, freedom, unity, feminism, and civil rights.
